What a beautiful day it is! Today, 65 years ago, one of the most strickingly flamboyant gifts to music and art was born: You know I'm talking about The King himself: FREDDIE -Youweretooawesomeforthisworld- MERCURY, the master mind behind the astounding marvelousity best known as QUEEN (*Cheers from the crowd in agreement: HAIL MERCURY!!!!!!!!*).

Words fall short trying to describe your incomparable talent, there aren't enough compliments to effectively praise your music and persona: Such a talented artist and a playful performer, always charismatic.. always giving his everything during concerts, exposing his soul to the world in every single one of his songs; you gave us some of the most beautiful, powerful anthems ever known to mankind: all of your songs hold such strong emotions and passion to them, there is always a special meaning to them; even to this day, you keep inspiring not only musicians, but people of all kinds around the world. You were the mentor and the ultimate goal to many artists from all over the world.
You certainly were a true inspiration: no matter what, listening to the astonishing tones of your voice always makes things better.

You were, you are, and you will remain the biggest, the better, the dearest. For you and your music were one of the best parts of my childhood, my adolescence and life; you have always been one of my most dearest sources of inspiration: you taught me it was okay being myself, being creative, being an individual and to always stay true to who I am. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way, Freddie, your music touched many hearts...

You are most dearly, greatly, constantly missed, Sir!

Dear Alejandro, sir........

You should be proud of yourself, for a cool looking video has recently been filmed in your name. Yes! Lady Gaga has finally released the highly expected video for her newest single, "Alejandro".

Now, anybody who heard the song before watching the video will agree with me on the whole "Spanish novel" flavor the music has. I mean, just listen to her fake sort of latin/spanish accent, the latin/spanish male names... the whole mentioning Mexico thing! I thought this video would be a sort of Latin Lover stravaganzza, full of fancy flamenco-like dance moves, Gaga dressed up as a femme fatale, having many latin lovers and leaving them all, or maybe even killing them (like in some of her previous videos) by the end of the so-called-video. BUT! what did we get? well, we got ermm... This:

MILITAR-S&M-STEAMPUNK-HELLRAISER-LEATHER STRAVAGANZZAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Can I say I fell in love with all of this? Forever? ; u ; First of all, the aesthetics and overall art chosen for this particular video were totally unexpected. Seriously, who would've thought "Alejandro" would be turned into a beautiful piece of macabre and obscure? I am totally up for this. The obscure aesthetic and scenarios. The slight s&m esscence the garments distill is beautiful. I trully enjoyed the slight Hellraiser reminiscence the very start of the video gives. The only thing Miss Gaga is missing is one of those intricate torture piercings most of the Cenobites wear as a part of their garments. I think this is, without a doubt, one of her best looks. Ever. Some may agree with me, some may disagree. Some may think I have totally lost my mind. But, I will say, I found her looks to be really sober and breath taking in this particular video. That delicate paper-white skin, white, snowy hair and vampy lipstick, in contrast with that black leather garment gives her such an impecable and impressive look.

Steampunk looks great on her, hmm?

Moving on, moving on. Next image, please!

Hmm, something isn't right with this... let's see... She's a sort of dark nun now... seems to be praying or something... That red nun outfit is pretty neat, actually; that whole image would make an excellent painting, in my opinion. She still looks impecable and gorgeous... WAIT! I remembered! What does ANY of that have to do with the overall video?! I thought she was a sort of steampunk something earlier... what happened, then?
This makes me think she just wanted to create some controversy. Honestly, this has nothing to do within the conext of the video. And that other white garment with the red crosses? More free controversy. Controversy out of NOTHING and just BECAUSE. That is ridiculous, in my opinion. If you want to create controversy, do it for something worth it, something you believe in, some message you want to transmit. Not just because! This has been done before, even. If you want to use a religious theme for your videos, art, or whatever, make sure to do a good job transmitting your message, feelings or thoughts. Don't do it just for free controversy!

The video later shows Miss Gaga doing this sort of dance-slightporn-something with her male dancers in fishnets and high heels. Now, I have nothing with males wearing high heels, or any other sort of "feminine" clothes. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a role reversal. But, once again, that doesn't have much to do with the video. At least, I never though "Alejandro" was about Gaga making out with some gay, s&m nazi guys! Except, oh, yes! I bet parents all over the place must be now talking about your "wild and controversial" new video! Mission accomplished!

Long -worthless- post is long, hmm? I'm sorry, the intention of this post was, at first, just to praise the beautiful and slightly macabre aesthetic she had chosen for the video, and it ended up being more like an opinion on a life or death matter. Maybe next time, I should write about IMPORTANT, trascendental stuff, instead of a shamelessly attention-seeking video done for the sake of... attention!

Everybody, Hail Queen

Have I ever known of a more innovative band before? I don't think so, nor have many of you, either, I would dare to say.

I remember back in my elementary school days, when my father would play Queen's records in his old cassette player on the way to school. I didn't understand a word they were saying (english not being my mother language), but that didn't matter much, either way, for Queen's music was universal, and all of their songs transmitted certain feelings, ideas, and images, even!

The very band itself was amazing. Each of their members were trully talented and charismatic. Each of them had their well defined personality, and apported something special to the band's unique sound. I love how each of them had their part in the overall sound and music of the band. Every single one of them was equally important to the band. They were all special chellovecks working in their music together. There were no egos involved whatsoever.


They were true pioneers! Hard rock & Metal pioneers! Never afraid to incorporate different kinds of sounds to their music. How about some glam rock mixed with a pinch of progressive rock and sprinkled with a bit of blues? Have you ever heard of anything better than that? If you ever see any of today's bands doing anything; Queen, ladies and gentleman, has already done it before. Ten times bigger and better. Because they are that great.

Brian May's way with the guitar was awesome! It was as if he and his Red Special would turn into one individual just to perform some of the greatest riffs ever heard.

Gaga Oh la la? She wouldn't even have her artistic name if it wasn't for a certain drummer named Roger Taylor, children. Just keep that in mind. Wink wink.

A certain John Deacon (who, by the way was an engineer genious, as well as a versatile bass player. He was said to be an Electronics magician, since he built and adapted several of Queen's electronics equipment. It was his "Deacy Amp" the final touch at Bohemian Rhapsody.

Now, that is what I call some serious talent all in one band!

And now, for the Grand finale...! (*Drums rolls go in here*) we all know Queen's heart and soul was a man. Lead singer, Freddie Mercury (Everybody, hail!).
Freddie was such a passionate man, it seemed. He was a real artist, and definetely, one of the best singers EVER known by mankind. Have you ever watched any of their videos? Seen their live presentations? The man was a true genious! Pure charisma and dynamic awesomeness. Scientists all over the world believe he was made of pure epic musical power. And that is a fact.
Seriously, He is one of the most talented artists I have ever heard of. Just listen to his lyrics. It was poetry made rock. Bohemian Rhapsody. ENOUGH SAID. That song is EPIC. And you must know I hardly ever use that word, for it makes me sound like a pompous little brat; but its use is necessary in this case. Ah, the structure of that song is marvelous. A song talking about sin and redemption? Angels and demons? Crime and punishment? Yes, please! A thousand times, YESSSSSSS!
Seven Seas of Rhye, anyone? No wonder why he is considered the "Ultimate God of Rock". Well earned title, if you ask me. His life performances were god-like. He was able to easily keep the audience astonished over his voice and music and overall awesomeness, as well!

Oh, well, I could go on and on and on AND on forever and would ultimately just praise Queen over and over again.
Obvious post is obvious (and long), hmm?
Okay, then, this is good-bye! I've sadly got homework to do now.
And so, I shall continue listening to my beloved Bohemian Rhapsody now. Peet, all!
